Nannostomus beckfordi

Beckford’s Pencilfish
Steindachner, 1876

These N. beckfordi are  part of a palludarium installation that includes the Corydoras concolor pictured, as well as several Corydoras habrosus and a pair of Mikrogeophagus ramirezi .  The water is as dark as tea, stained with almond leaves to simulate the “blackwater” conditions of certain Amazon rivers and tributaries.
